beginner calisthenics class
Wednesday at 8:30PM
This is a 1hr to 1.5hr class that focuses on the fundamentals of Calisthenics. You do not need any experience or prerequisite skill level to try these classes as they truly are built for beginners. We craft a solid foundation in your 5 basic movements: pull ups, push ups, dips, squats and hollow position. Students that attend beginner class consistently for multiple cycles can expect to work towards muscle up acquisition over time. Most classes start with a skill followed by strength and conditioning to directly support that skill to support the 5 basic movements.
Class structure works on a 6-8 week rotational schedule that includes a muscle up style workshop and an introduction to beginner handstand workshop within the cycle rotation. All classes are stand alone but most of our students make the most gains from coming consistently weekly. You can also expect to work on skills such as: L-sit, skin the cat, hand balancing basics, introduction to levers (front, back), pistol squats, and intro to planche. All classes start with mobility work and always incorporate discussions and homework tips for training outside of class.
